Dog grooming:
1. Ensuring your dogs’ health and welfare is being maintained throughout the groom is our priority. Your dog will be constantly monitored and if we have any concerns we will contact you and may stop the groom if we see fit.
2. We work in line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006 which states that animals have ‘the need to be protected from pain, suffering, injury & disease’. A matted coat can compromise the dogs’ welfare and needs to be dealt with for its health. We will attempt to de-matt the coat with specialised de-matting tools however if this is beginning to compromise welfare & your dog is becoming distressed, we will contact you to advise of clipping off the coat.
3. Be aware that clipping the coat to remove matts will mean the coat is cut very short and may expose skin issues from the matting.
4. Please remember ‘the duty of care’ (as stated in the Animal Welfare Act 2006) is with the owner to assist with the maintenance of the coat in between grooms.
5.If there is evidence of an external parasite infestation your dog will not be accepted for grooming. If parasites become apparent throughout the groom you will be charged for the additional cost in dealing with this.
6. If you are aware of any skin conditions or allergies your dog has prior to the groom, then let us know and we will accommodate this whilst bathing your dog and using appropriate products.
7. Any cancellations must be made more than 48 hrs in advance or 25% of the booking will be charged.
